In this article, we're going to see how you can use your CRM to build a basic sales funnel from start to finish. Navigating Funnel A funnel is a marketing strategy that converts your site visitors into buyers. To start, let’s click “Sites” on the left menu of your CRM.   This is the main funnels view. Here, you can create, edit or copy funnels. But before we create a funnel, we'll need to build a form that lets us capture data from our leads.   Form Builder Let's click “Form Builder” in the top menu.   And then click “Create New” Form in the upper right.   Here we have our form builder. The first thing to do is give your new form a name. Click the “Options” tab on the right side of your screen and enter a name in the first field. We've named our form, "Learnfree."   Now we're going to add a few standard fields to our form by dragging and dropping elements from the Fields tab to the form canvas.   We'll also disable Agency Branding from the Styles tab.   Back on the Options tab, make sure to enable the Sticky Contact toggle. This means that your site visitors' data will be remembered and they won't have to re-enter information.   We'll also need to add a submit button to our form from the Fields tab.    After you've added it, click the “Button” on your form canvas to open its properties, and we'll change the text of the button in the first field. And then customize the background and text colors. We've also made the button full-width.   And now you can see the entire form in your form canvas.   Lastly, let's click “Integrate Form”.   We'll integrate it into our funnel later, so for now, just click “Save and Exit”.   Now our Learnfree form appears on our list of forms.    Calendar The next step is to create a calendar for appointment bookings. Click “Calendars” on the left menu and then click “Calendar Settings” on the top menu bar.   Click “New Calendar”.   In the pop-up, give a custom name to your Calendar. We're going to call ours LearnFree. Then, click “Save and Continue”.   Click “Save and Continue” again.   Scroll down and enable the Sticky Contact toggle.  Then scroll down and click the “Complete” button.       Add Domain   Our calendar is now ready. The next thing we'll need to do is add our domain. Click “Domains” tab in the left Settings menu bar. And then click “Add New Domain” in the top right of the view that appears.   We've already registered the learnfreedemo.com domain for this example. But we'll need to add a CNAME record for that domain pointing to our CRM's URL, funnels.msgsndr.com. Copy your own CRM’s URL. To do that, switch to your DNS host. Then, open the Zone Editor section of your DNS host and add a CNAME record with your CRM’s URL and a TTL value of 14400.  Copy the URL from the record field.   Now switch back to your CRM and paste the URL you copied. Then click Add. You'll receive a confirmation message when the domain has been successfully added. Close the pop-up and navigate to your Funnels area.     Build Funnel   Now, it's time to start building our funnel. Click the “New Funnel” button in the upper right.   In the popup, give your funnel a name and then click “Create Funnel”. We're going to name our funnel, LearnFreeDemo.   You can see that our LearnFreeDemo funnel has been created.  Next, click the “Settings” tab, and in the domain field, select your domain from the drop-down list. And click “Save”.   Next, we'll start adding steps to our funnel. Go back to the Steps tab and click “Add New Step”.   Each step will need a name, so give your step a name. Let's call this first step, LearnFree - LandingPage. We'll also need to specify a path after the forward-slash. And then save it by clicking “Create Funnel Step”.   Great! Our first funnel step has been created. Click the “Edit Page” link.   This is going to take us to a drag-and-drop HTML editor where we can create our landing page.   Adding a Background Let's start by adding a background image to our page. Click “Settings” and then select “Background”.   You can either add an image URL or select an image from the built-in media library. Click the “image icon” to the right of the field to open your library.     And then either upload an image by clicking the green button in the upper right or simply select an image from your library. We're going to select the highlighted image as our background. To select it, click the checkbox that appears when you hover your mouse over the image.   The background image now appears in our editor and we can add other elements to our page.    Adding a Section Click “Section” to create a new page section, then select Add Section, and choose your preferred section size. There are four section sizes available. For this section, we'll choose Full Width.   The green outline shows the area of our new section.    Adding a Row Next, we'll add a row by clicking the “Add Row” button in the outline. We've selected a 2-column row.   And now it appears on our main view. On the left sidebar, you can see a number of options for our two-column row. We can change its background color, adjust padding within the column, and make several other formatting edits.   We've resized the columns and then added a logo to the left column. In the right column, we've added a background and a page title.  Now, let's create another full-width section - click “Section” at the top, and then select “Add Section”.     In this new section, we'll also add a two-column row.   Adding an Element Let's click the “Add Element” button to open up a list of available elements to the right. And let's select a Sub-Heading element for the left column in our new section.   We've added some text to show how it can be styled. In the left sidebar, you can adjust font, size, color, and many other text settings.   For the second column, let's add a form element. Click “Add Element” and then select “Form”.   When you choose a Form element, a pop-up will let you choose which of your previously-created forms to use. Remember the LearnFree form we created? We’ll select it now from the list.   And as you can see, the form is inserted perfectly into our second column. We’ve also added some text above the form. Of course, this is just a simple design, but your CRM gives you plenty of powerful tools to design and customize the exact page you want. Once you're done, click “Save” in the upper right corner.   A preview of our completed first step now appears on the LearnFreeDemo Funnel page.   Adding A New Step Let's add another step to our funnel. Click “Add New Step”.   Again, let's give the step a name, set the path, and then click “Create Funnel Step”.   As before, click “Edit Page” to open the editor.   We've gone ahead and designed the page. But for this step, let’s add a Calendar element. We created a new section and 1-row column, so now we'll click “Calendar” from the elements options.   And choose the calendar we built earlier in this video by selecting it from the pop-up that appears.   Perfect! Our calendar for booking appointments shows up on the page. Click “Save” in the upper right.     Adding a Thank You Page Now we have two steps for our funnel - a landing page and an appointment booking page. Let's create a thank you page as well. Click “Add New Step” and when the popup appears, give it a name, set the path, and click Create “Funnel Step”. Then, click “Edit Page” as before.   Again, we've already put together a simple design and we’ll click “Save” to add this step to our funnel.     Linking The Pages We'll use the three finished steps we've created as our funnel. But now we'll need to link the pages. Let's click to the second step, LearnFree - appointment, and copy its link.    Now, we’ll click “Form Builder” under Marketing on the left menu to go to our forms. And we'll open up the form we built earlier.   Click the “Options” tab, and look for the On Submit section. It should be set to Open URL. In the field below, let's paste the link for the LearnFree-appointment step of our funnel. And click “Integrate Form” at the bottom.    Lastly, click “Save and Exit”.   Let's do the same thing for our third funnel step. Navigate back to Funnels, select the LearnFree-Thank you step, and copy its link.   For this link, we're going to add it to our calendar. Click “Settings” on the left menu and then click “Calendars” in the menu bar. Let's open our Learnfree calendar - click on the bottom right and then select “Edit”.   Click the “Confirmation” tab and then scroll down. We’ll paste the link under Form Submit Redirect URL, and then click “Complete”.     How it Works   So how does it all work together?  Let's walk through our funnel's three steps in the same way that a visitor would experience it.  You can copy and paste the landing page URL in a new browser tab, or simply click this icon to open it.   Now we can see how our landing page appears to a visitor. We're going to add some dummy text in the appointment booking form and then click the “Submit” button at the bottom.   This automatically opens our appointment calendar page. Let's book an appointment. We've selected June 19th at 1:30pm and then clicked the “Select Date” button. We’ve also added some text above the form.   And this takes us to an appointment booking summary. Note that we didn't have to fill in any information twice. That's because of the Sticky Contact toggle that we enabled. Let's Click the “Book Appointment” button to see what happens.   As expected, it took us to our thank you page, the third step of our funnel.    Our example was obviously simple, but you can use your CRM to create complex funnels with many steps and start turning your site visitors into paying customers.
